Stroller Strides, Stroller Barre, and Strides 360

What do I need to bring to class?

Plenty of water, towel or yoga mat/blanket, sunscreen (for outdoor classes), baby essentials including snacks and/or toys for your little one(s), comfortable walking/running shoes (both Stroller Strides and Stroller Barre are traveling classes), appropriate exercise attire, and any kind of stroller.

I just had a baby, when can I join Stroller Strides/Stroller Barre?

You can begin attending class with your doctor's clearance to begin exercising, typically after your six week postpartum appointment. See you there, Mama!

Can I attend classes if I am pregnant?

Absolutely! We encourage expectant moms to continue to exercise throughout their pregnancies as long as everything has been approved by their physician. In fact, FIT4BABY is our prenatal fitness class designed just for our pregnant moms. Instructors are qualified to lead our professionally designed pre/postnatal fitness programs that follow the latest American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) guidelines. We can modify any exercise that poses a challenge as you progress through your pregnancy. FIT4MOM® recommends you obtain your doctor’s approval prior to beginning Stroller Strides/Stroller Barre. If pregnant, please speak with your physician before your first day.

Exercise during pregnancy has proven beneficial and helps improve or increase the following:

  • Cardiovascular fitness

  • Muscular strength/endurance

  • Energy levels

  • Higher fatigue threshold

  • Posture and biomechanics

  • Circulation

  • Self-esteem, sense of well-being

  • Recovery time

What if I have an injury or need modifications?

We encourage you to listen to your body, discuss your limitations with your doctor or physical therapist, and get their clearance before working out with us. Our instructors are trained in common pre and postnatal modifications and are happy to work with you and your medical professional.

Can I try a class before I join?

Your first class is always FREE! This allows you to see first hand if FIT4MOM classes are a good fit for you and your little one! To sign up for your free class fill out the form here.

How will I know if the class location has changed due to weather?

In case of inclement weather, outdoor class locations may change. Follow us on Facebook and check for updates an hour before class starts. Sign up for class the night before and you will be sent an email as soon as the change is made. If texts are your thing, sign up for Remind to get information sent straight to your phone.

Do I need to be a runner to attend these classes?

Absolutely not! Stroller Strides/Stroller Barre is for moms of ALL fitness levels. We meet for a warm up, then power walk, jog, or run to each exercise station. You exercise at the pace you feel most comfortable.

At what age can my baby be in a jogger?

As a general guideline, when your baby can hold their head up, they can ride in a jogger. But, we suggest that you follow your own stroller manufacturer’s guidelines and your doctor's recommendations.

Do I need a jogging stroller for the workout?

Jogging strollers are not required. As long as the stroller is sturdy, not prone to tipping and all children can be safely strapped into their seats for the duration of class, it will work just fine!

My baby doesn't like being in the stroller for too long, how will I get a good workout?

Babies are priority, so don't worry if your baby becomes fussy during class! Our classes are designed to keep the kids moving and engaged by incorporating songs and various props to keep them entertained. With that said, if you need to change, nurse or console your baby, please do so (remember, you are in good company). Kids will have good and bad days and we understand that. The kiddos will learn the new routine of "Mommy's hour" and learn a few things during our workout too!

How old does my baby need to be to start classes?

Babies and kids can join you at Stroller Strides/Stroller Barre up to any age as long as they can still safely be buckled in the stroller. We recommend waiting until you have medical clearance from your physician (normally this is 6-8 weeks postpartum). Always obtain your doctor's permission before starting this or any other kind of exercise program.

What do I do if my baby gets fussy during class?

That's okay! Sometimes babies cry. You will be in a group full of moms with their kids - we've all been there and we all get it. If your little one likes to be worn, bring a carrier. We can modify any exercise for baby wearing, just make sure it's a soft structured carrier and your baby faces you.

You're always able to do what you need to do to take care of your little one and, of course, we try to keep things moving so that the kids are happy and entertained.

What if I need to feed my baby during class?

We’ve got you, Mama! If you need to change, nurse or console your baby, please do so. Your instructor will make sure to provide you with comfort and discretion during class.

Can my older children walk along or ride their bike during class?

Kids that have finished kindergarten and older may walk next to their mom from station to station and sit next to the stroller during each station. Anyone under 18 may not participate in classes. No bikes or scooters are permitted to be used during class. Many moms will bring a small stool or camp chair for their older kids to sit in during each station.

Are dogs allowed at class?

Dogs are not allowed at class.

Body Boost and Body Ignite

What can I expect from Body Boost/Body Well?

Body Boost is our high intensity interval training classes that combine cardio exercises with strength and core training for a well rounded workout built for moms.

Body Well Transformation is a combination of high intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts, a meal plan, one on one coaching, and 2 hours a week just for you.

Results may vary, but for a full eight week Body Well Transformation session, we see an average weight loss of 8-20 pounds and countless inches. Most importantly, you'll see incredible strength and endurance gains leading to a more confident you! Some women join our programs to lose weight while others have strength or personal goals. No matter your reasons, our coaches will help you reach your goals.

The meal plan recipes are easy, flavorful and include simple ingredients. This healthy plan helps you to eat a balanced diet of protein, fiber, fruits and vegetables. Lots of recipes can be made ahead of time and served later. There are also some crock pot recipes too!

Can I bring kids to Body Boost or Body Ignite?

No. These classes are for women 18 and up without children present.

Can I do Body Well if I am pregnant?

The Body Well program is not intended for expecting moms.

Workouts can be done if you were completeing similar workouts before your pregnancy and with doctor approval.

If you become pregnant during the course of your Body Well session, please notify your instructor.

What do I need to bring to class?

Body Boost - A yoga mat or towel for the abs portion and cool down. A resistance band (we will provide one for you on your first day of class), plenty of water, and a towel for your sweat. You WILL sweat!

Body Ignite - A yoga mat or towel and dumbbells or a weighted bar of your weight preference.

What is the workout like?

Body Boost is a high-intensity interval training class that is delivered in one of three ways: Rounds, Circuit or Traveling. We cycle through Cardio, Strength and Core for a full-body workout that provides a significant caloric afterburn for enhanced results. Every class has an intention and finishes with a relaxing meditation.

Body Ignite is our strength class. We use a weighted bar or dumbbells to target each muscle group throughout the hour long class, ending with a stretch and quiet minute.

I have not worked out in years, are these classes for me?

Yes. We have all fitness levels in our classes! These classes are designed to be tough but our goal is to deliver a workout that will challenge any fitness level. We are happy to provide modifications and low impact options!

What makes Body Well and the FIT4MOM programs different from the gym?

Body Well is so much more than just another HIIT workout! We are a community of moms where you will find support, encouragement, camaraderie and lifelong friendships. Through education, we help you create a healthier home and more active lifestyle for your family. We believe you should be empowered and encouraged to push past your perceived limits and find inner strength while building physical strength. We strive to build you up and put you first to create your BEST YOU.

Do I need to pre-register or can I just show up?

For BODY WELL Transformation sessions, pre-register to ensure your spot in the class. Body Well sessions sell out quickly, so you want to hold your spot by registering early.

For workout drop-in classes, pre-register so your instructor knows to expect you and can contact you if there are any changes to the class. We require a minimum number of clients to be enrolled in order to offer that class. If you cannot make it to class, please cancel with at least 24 hours notice.

FIT4BABY Prenatal

Can I bring kids to FIT4BABY?

No. This class is for women 18 and up without children present.

What do I need to bring to class?

A yoga mat or towel for the birth prep and cool down. A resistance band (we will provide one for you on your first day of class), plenty of water, and a towel for your sweat.

What is the workout like?

The 60-minute workout includes cardio, strength, balance, and flexibility training. We end every class with a relaxing meditation.

If I have not worked out in years, can I still join?

Yes. We have all fitness levels and all stages of pregnancy in our classes. Just make sure you have your doctor's clearance before participating. All exercises are carefully selected to prepare your body for the many changes you will experience and follow the most up-to-date ACOG (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) guidelines.

What makes FIT4BABY and the FIT4MOM programs different from the gym?

FIT4BABY is a comprehensive program designed specifically for moms-to-be. You will find it’s so much more than just a workout! We are a community of moms where you will find support, encouragement, camaraderie, and lifelong friendships.

Our Membership

What does my membership include?

Your membership includes access to all programs and classes at any of the FIT4MOM Chicago locations within the perimeters of your membership level. Membership also includes being a member in our closed Facebook group, weekly playgroups, monthly Moms’ Night Outs and more!

Can I bring family or friends who are visiting to class with me?

Visitors are welcome to come to one class free of charge! If you have an extended-stay guest who will participate longer than one week, they will be subject to a drop-in fee. All visitors must create an account and sign our waiver in order to participate.

Weekend kid friendly classes are partner classes! Bring one family member (spouse/partner/grandparent) for free, better yet, make them push the stroller**.

**Anyone with their own children/children not in the same household are considered clients, not partners, and may be subject to regular class rates after their free trial class

How do I place my membership on hold or cancel it?

To downgrade your membership, please fill out the form here.

For maternity leave or injuries, please fill out the form here.

All cancel requests need to be received in writing 30 business days before the next payment is due.

Membership downgrades and hold requests need to be received in writing 15 days before the next payment is due. Memberships will be placed on hold for the maximum of 4 months. Requirements do not apply for maternity leave or injury holds.

When can I place my membership on hold or cancel it?

To avoid payment, all requests need to be received in writing 15 business days before the next payment is due for holds and 30 days for cancels. There are no refunds on dues once payment has been paid.

How do I change my return date on my hold?

You can return from your hold on any day of the month. Please email chicago@fit4mom.com at least 24 hrs prior to your return.

What is the fee to place a membership on hold?

There is a $20 deposit to place your membership on hold. You will get this deposit back as a credit on your first bill after the hold. There are no fees for maternity leave or injuries.

Memberships can be placed on hold for up to 4 months.

Can I attend classes when my membership is on hold?

When your membership is on hold you can attend classes at the drop-in rate of $20/class.

What is the enrollment fee for a membership?

There is a $99 enrollment fee for most new clients. If you sign up for membership on day of your first class we are happy to offer you discounted enrollment.

If you cancel your membership and then wish to rejoin, you may be subject to an additional enrollment fee

How do I update my credit card on file?

To update your credit card on file:

  • Log into your Pike13 account

  • Below your profile photo you will see a list of options

  • Click on "Payment Methods"

  • Update the information

  • Click “Save”

  • Be sure to delete the old credit card on file

Who do I contact with questions about my membership?

If you ever have any questions on your membership, you can email chicago@fit4mom.com or call us at 773-417-9568.

Is my membership transferable to another franchise location?

No. Memberships are only valid for the franchise where they were purchased. If you move to an area outside of our franchise, you will need to cancel your current membership and sign up for a membership at the new franchise. We encourage you to let us know you are moving so we can put you in touch with your new franchise.

I have or have been exposed to Covid19 and have recently attended class, what should I do?

Please email chicago@fit4mom.com and we will use current guidelines to disseminate that information confidentially.

What COVID 19 precautions are being taken for class?

Please follow all CDC, Illinois, and City of Chicago guidelines for Covid19 safety.

  • Face masks and hand sanitizer are available for all clients.
  • Instructors will not come near or touch your stroller without your express permission.
  • We ask that everyone who is not vaccinated wear a mask between stations and whenever you are not spaced 6 feet apart.
  • All shared equipment is sanitized between uses.

We ask that you stay home if you do not feel well or have been around someone that has recently tested positive for Covid 19. Please also follow all quarantine guidelines and wait to return to class.
