Fit4Baby Prenatal

Congrats on your pregnancy!

Your head is likely spinning with questions and wonder: What will motherhood be like? Will I have a boy or girl? How will motherhood change my life? Your questions (okay, not the gender question) are answered at Fit4Baby! While the class is focused on safe, effective exercise, the community and friendships you create throughout your time with us is unsurpassed.

Can I exercise while I'm pregnant?

Yes! Regular activity such as Fit4Baby® classes can help to reduce many maternal aches and pains, increase energy during pregnancy and may speed the labor, delivery and recovery process. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), exercise is just as important during pregnancy as any other time of life. Pregnancy is the perfect time to commit to health; and exercise is an important component to well-being for pregnant women and new moms. Just like you are signing up for childbirth and parenting education classes, prenatal exercise classes are important for connecting and understanding your changing body. We encourage each member of any FIT4MOM® program to seek a physician's approval before starting any exercise program. Fit4Baby®: helping soon-to-be mothers find the STRENGTH FOR MOTHERHOOD!

DETAILS

Fit4Baby® is a program designed to strengthen the body for all the changes it will experience during pregnancy. Each eight week session focuses on cardio, strength, flexibility and preparing the body for motherhood. Fit4Baby® is designed to accommodate all stages of pregnancy and various fitness levels. These classes are for moms only. Please bring water, a yoga mat and wear comfy clothes.

Classes require an RSVP and run in consecutive eight week sessions. You are welcome to join a session at any time. Classes are held in Chicago and Evanston.

If you are interested in Fit4Baby, please have your medical provider complete our approval form. Exercise is recommended for most pregnant women, still it's important to check with your doctor or midwife before starting a new exercise program!
